AmeriCorps

A work program for adults age 17 and older that helps pay for college in exchange for their service through the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). Members tutor kids, build homes and work on various projects full-time or part-time over a 9 to 12 month period or during the summer in many locations throughout Ohio and the US.

Career Placement

 

Eckerd Connects Workforce Development

Provides free career training, job and post-secondary education assistance, industry-recognized certification and supportive services for young adults ages 14 to 28. The programs are offered year-round at various locations around Columbus. For youth in kindergarten to 8th grade they offer summer day camps. These services are free to those that meet TANF and/or WIOA eligibility guidelines. Please call for eligibility determination.

Expanding Visions

Offers career development service to teenagers preparing for success in the workforce, adults looking to further their careers and middle school students developing leadership skills that will propel them to successful careers. They also offer life coaching to help graduates along their career paths.

Through the Franklin County Summer Youth Works Program the Franklin County Board of Commissioners will place 2,385 TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) eligible youth in summer work experience programming utilizing the CCMEP (Comprehensive Case Management Employment Program) Model.
